Julia Furst Morgado. A wealth of skills, dedicated to DevRel.
DevRel benefits from a diverse range of skills.
Several of the guests I’ve spoken to on our Fireside with Voxgig podcast have, like me, discovered that we worked in developer relations AFTER we had been doing it for about a decade! We started out as coders and programmers and through chance, coaxing or strong arming (as in PJ Hagerty's case!) we ended up talking to a community of like minded developers….and the rest is….well, not history. It’s actually a growing and exciting career choice now.
And a brilliant example of people making the choice to enter DevRel is this week’s guest, the multi-skilled Julia Furst Morgado. Not only is she skilled though, she’s a very hard worker and her community building is set to turbocharged!
With qualifications in law and business, Julia then turned her attention to coding, a skill she continues to develop.
Take a listen to our conversation where we walk through her path to where she is now - a Global Technologist with Veeam. Based in New York now, Julia is also ALL about community and like all of our guests, stresses the work and effort that building a community takes. But that’s the fun! You get to be part of something much bigger than yourself.
We also discuss the need for DevRel professionals to not only be able to code, but to continue to code and develop their programming skills in their role. How else can you explain, improve or influence a product if you don’t understand it fully? If you have an alternative view, come on the podcast and we’ll chat about it. Thanks for reading - and listening.
