Patience & Dogged Determination in DevRel
Alex Lakatos, DeveloperSteve, on fire on the Fireside with Voxgig podcast
We’ve had a busy couple of weeks and here we present the fruit of our labours for you to enjoy.
Alex Lakatos - CTO Interledger, on patience and communities
Let’s start with Alex Lakatos’s appearance on our Fireside with Voxgig podcast a couple of weeks ago. Alex is the CTO of Interledger, a non-profit dedicated to simplifying international payments, especially to developing economies. Alex is experienced and patient. So very patient! With a typical client onboarding taking many, many months, Alex and Interledger are there to guide financial institutions through the technical requirements of getting a new payments service launched for their customers. With such a daunting task, Alex believes the DevRel superpower of Community building is key and has recognised a range of different communities Interledger serves in different ways.
Steve Coochin - Senior Developer Advocate with Lumigo
Steve is a dogged problem solver. This was how I met him first. While integrating a 3rd party service for a client, there was an issue which Steve sorted for me in the most incredibly developer first way and his DevRel skills were obvious. In this episode, Steve DeveloperSteve Coochin, (his full name on his passport!) brings us through his early DevRel training in the likes of PayPal, and onwards through IBM, Xero and now with Lumigo. Throughout, his real tech ability mixed with focus on developer needs has contributed to the DevRel culture where he’s worked and shown him the VALUE of his approach. Listen to him describe his approach but also, his thoughtful insights on WHERE DevRel sits in an organisation.
Next week I’ll bring you the videos of our most recent Dublin DevRel meetup where both Liran Tal and David Neal delivered really useful and motivational talks to help DevRel professionals be their best. I’ll also announce the June speakers. It’s all go, go, go in DevRel!
